Travel Itinerary

Your journey begins from Pokhara, one of Nepal’s most beautiful lakeside cities located at an altitude of 822 meters (2,696 feet). After breakfast, you will take a short and scenic drive to Phedi, which takes around 30–45 minutes. The route winds gently through little villages, terraced farmlands and green hills, with lovely views of the surrounding countryside and the distant mountains. 

Upon reaching Phedi, the trekking portion officially begins. The trail starts with a gradual uphill climb through stone staircases, forested paths, and traditional rural settlements. The more you climb, the more you feel the tranquil atmosphere of the mountain. You will see fresh air, natural beauty and sometimes you get a view of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) ranges. 

It takes about 3-4 hours to hike to Dhampus depending on how fast you go. Along the way you will see local houses, terraced farms and little stop areas where you may enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the Annapurna foothills.  The trail is moderately easy and suitable for beginners, making it an enjoyable introduction to trekking in Nepal.

After reaching Dhampus, located at an altitude of 1,650 meters (5,413 feet), you will check into a local tea house or lodge. Dhampus is a beautiful traditional village famous for its panoramic Himalayan views and peaceful surroundings. 

In the evening, you can relax while enjoying spectacular sunset views over the Annapurna range and experience the warm hospitality of the local Gurung community.

After breakfast in the quiet village of Dhampus, continue your climb towards Sarangkot, one of the most popular overlooks near Pokhara. Leaving Dhampus after enjoying the wonderful morning views of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain) and the surrounding green slopes, you proceed along scenic ridgeline pathways. 

The route passes through forested paths, terraced farmlands, and traditional villages where you can observe local rural life and farming culture. The trail is relatively gentle with a mix of gradual ascents and descents, making the walk comfortable and enjoyable for most trekkers. The serene ambiance, fresh mountain air and panoramic views of the hills make for a comfortable trekking experience throughout the journey. 

As you move closer to Sarangkot, the landscape opens up with wider views of the Pokhara Valley, Phewa Lake, and distant Himalayan peaks. Sarangkot is recognized for its beautiful sunrise and sunset views and draws tourists from all over the world. The area itself is serene, with small tea houses and quaint communities overlooking the valley below. 

After several hours of trekking, you arrive at Sarangkot, located at an altitude of 1,600 meters (5,249 feet). Upon reaching the village, you will check into a local lodge or tea house and have time to relax while enjoying spectacular mountain and valley views. 

In the evening you will get a chance to see a spectacular sunset above the Annapurna range and one of the most unforgettable highlights of the Dhampus Sarangkot Trek.

The final day of the trek begins early in the morning in Sarangkot, where you can witness one of the most spectacular sunrise views in Nepal. As the first rays of sunshine gradually illuminate the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Dhaulagiri and the surrounding Himalayan peaks, the entire area is a stunning spectacle of golden mountains, rolling hills and cloud-filled valleys. The serene environment and spectacular surroundings make witnessing the sunrise one of the trek's primary attractions. 

After breakfast, you begin the descent from Sarangkot towards Pokhara. The trail gradually winds downhill through traditional villages, forested sections, terraced farmlands, and stone stairways. At the time of descent, enjoy the breathtaking views of Phewa Lake, Pokhara valley and surrounding hills. It is a relatively easy and comfortable route that makes the last journey day nice and relaxed. 

Along the way, you may pass local villagers carrying out daily activities, small tea stops, and peaceful countryside landscapes that provide a final glimpse into rural mountain life. The fresh air and changing scenery make the walk both refreshing and memorable as you slowly return to lower elevations. After several hours of trekking, you arrive back in Pokhara, where your trekking adventure officially concludes. 

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel near the Lakeside area. The rest of the day is free for rest, sightseeing, shopping or just relaxing by Phewa Lake contemplating the gorgeous mountain vistas, local experiences and calm pathways of Dhampus Sarangkot Trek
